Managed IT Services

Your outsourced IT department.

One monthly service that covers your people, your devices, your cloud platforms and the security around all of it.

Most companies with 5–50 employees can't justify a full-time IT hire, but they've outgrown asking the most technical person in the office for help. This is the middle option: a complete IT function, run by people who do it for a living.

Included in every engagement

  • Unlimited remote help desk for your team
  • Managed, patched and encrypted devices
  • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration
  • Security controls applied and maintained
  • Monitored backups with test restores
  • Documented environment and asset inventory
  • Quarterly technology and security review

Scope is confirmed in writing before anything starts. No surprise add-ons.

Cloud & productivity

The platforms your business runs on

Email, files and identity are where the work happens and where most of the risk sits. We own the configuration, not just the password resets.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace management

Full administration of the tenant your business depends on every day.

  • User accounts, licensing and license-cost review
  • Email flow, aliases, shared mailboxes and distribution groups
  • SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams or Google Drive structure and sharing rules
  • Security defaults and conditional access policies configured properly
  • Tenant-level audit logging turned on and retained

Password management

A business password manager your team will actually use, plus control over shared credentials.

  • Company-wide password manager deployed and supported
  • Shared vaults for teams instead of credentials in spreadsheets
  • Vendor and service accounts documented and rotated when staff change
  • Employee onboarding into the vault as part of day-one setup

Vendor coordination

We deal with your internet provider, phone system and line-of-business software vendors so your staff doesn't have to.

  • Named technical contact for your ISP, phone and application vendors
  • We open, track and escalate tickets on your behalf
  • Coordination of upgrades and maintenance windows
  • Renewal dates and contract terms tracked in your documentation

Devices & infrastructure

Every machine and connection, under management

Standardized, monitored and kept current. The goal is a fleet where any two computers behave the same way.

Endpoint & device management

Central management of every company laptop, desktop and mobile device.

  • Devices enrolled in management from the day they're unboxed
  • Consistent configuration, naming and software baseline
  • Disk encryption enforced and recovery keys escrowed
  • Remote lock and wipe available for lost or stolen hardware
  • Health and disk-space monitoring with alerts we act on

Patching & updates

Operating system and third-party application updates on a managed schedule.

  • Windows and macOS updates tested, then deployed in rings
  • Browsers, PDF readers and other common software kept current
  • Reboot windows that respect your working hours
  • Patch compliance reported at your quarterly review

Endpoint security

Managed protection on every device, monitored rather than installed and forgotten.

  • Endpoint detection and response deployed fleet-wide
  • Alerts reviewed and investigated, not just logged
  • Device isolation available if a machine shows signs of compromise
  • Local administrator rights removed from standard user accounts

Network & firewall management

The firewall, switching, wireless and remote access that connect everything.

  • Firewall configuration, firmware updates and rule review
  • Business Wi-Fi with a separate guest network
  • Secure remote access for staff working off-site
  • Segmentation so guests and shop-floor devices are kept apart from company data

Backup monitoring

Backups for cloud data and critical systems, checked every day and periodically restored.

  • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data backed up independently of the platform
  • Servers and critical line-of-business data protected
  • Daily verification that jobs completed successfully
  • Periodic test restores, because an untested backup is an assumption

People & support

The part your team actually notices

Support that resolves things, and an employee lifecycle that doesn't depend on someone remembering the steps.

Remote support & help desk

A direct line for your staff, with most issues resolved without anyone travelling.

  • Email, phone and portal intake
  • Secure remote sessions with the employee's consent
  • Common issues: email, printing, access, performance, application errors
  • Recurring problems escalated into a permanent fix rather than repeated tickets

Employee onboarding

A repeatable checklist so a new hire is productive on their first morning.

  • Laptop imaged, encrypted, enrolled and labeled before the start date
  • Accounts, licensing, email and group access created from a role template
  • MFA enrolled and password manager set up during orientation
  • Access matched to the role rather than copied from whoever sits nearby

Employee offboarding

Access shut off the same day, with data preserved where the business needs it.

  • Sign-in blocked and active sessions revoked across all services
  • Mailbox and files transferred to a manager or retained as required
  • Company data removed from personal phones
  • Hardware return tracked and the device wiped and re-provisioned
  • A written record of what was removed and when

Documentation & planning

Knowing what you have, and what's next

The administrative work that makes everything else possible — and the part most businesses discover is missing only when they need it.

Asset inventory

A current list of every device, license and subscription you're paying for.

  • Hardware with age, warranty status and assigned user
  • Software licenses and subscription counts reconciled against actual users
  • Unused licenses identified so you stop paying for them
  • Replacement planning based on device age, not failure

IT documentation

Written records of how your environment is configured — and it's yours.

  • Network diagrams, configurations and service accounts
  • Vendor contacts, account numbers and renewal dates
  • Standard procedures for onboarding, offboarding and common requests
  • Handed over if you ever leave. No hostage-taking.

Quarterly technology & security reviews

A scheduled conversation about what changed, what it cost and what's coming.

  • Patch, backup and security posture summarized in plain English
  • Hardware refresh and budget forecast for the next 12 months
  • License and spend review
  • Recommendations prioritized by risk and business impact

The difference that matters

Proactive managed IT isn't a faster computer repair shop.

Break/fix and managed IT solve different problems. One sells you hours after something goes wrong. The other is paid to make sure it doesn't. That changes every incentive in the relationship.

Traditional break/fix

  • You call after something has already stopped working
  • Billed hourly, so a bad month is an expensive month
  • The provider earns more when things break
  • Each visit addresses the symptom in front of them
  • Nobody owns patching, backups or security between visits
  • Your environment drifts — every machine is a little different
  • Security is a separate purchase, usually after an incident
  • Knowledge lives in one technician's head

Proactive managed IT

  • Maintenance and monitoring run continuously, before you notice
  • A flat monthly fee, so your IT cost is a known number
  • We're paid to keep things stable, so prevention is in our interest
  • Recurring issues get a root-cause fix, not another visit
  • Patching, backup verification and security are scheduled work
  • A standardized fleet, so problems are predictable and faster to fix
  • Security controls are part of the baseline service
  • Your environment is documented and the documentation is yours

We still fix things when they break — that's part of it. The difference is that fixing things isn't the business model.

Pricing

Predictable monthly cost, scoped to your business

Managed IT is typically priced as a predictable monthly service based on the number of users, devices, locations and required security controls.

We quote after the assessment, not before. Pricing an environment we haven't looked at means either padding the number or discovering problems later and asking for more — and neither is a good start.

No long-term lock-in required to get a number. Ask and we'll walk you through how the estimate is built.

What the monthly fee covers

  • Help desk and remote support for your team
  • Device management, patching and endpoint security
  • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration
  • Backup monitoring and test restores
  • Network and firewall management
  • Onboarding and offboarding
  • Documentation and asset inventory
  • Quarterly technology and security reviews

Quoted separately

  • Hardware, software and third-party subscriptions
  • Project work such as office moves, server replacements and migrations
  • On-site visits outside the agreed scope
  • Specialist work outside managed IT, quoted before it starts

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Straight answers to what owners and operations leads ask before they hand over their IT.

Didn't find your question?

Ask it directly — you'll get a straight answer from someone who does the work.

Contact us
Do you replace our current IT provider?

Usually, yes — most clients move to us from another provider or from an informal arrangement. We handle the transition, including gathering credentials and documentation, so you aren't stuck mediating between two vendors.

We don't need you to end your current agreement before we talk. The assessment is useful either way, and if your provider is doing good work we'll tell you that.

Can you work with an internal IT employee?

Yes, and it's a common arrangement once a company passes about 25 people. Your internal person keeps the work that benefits from being in the building and knowing the business — application support, user training, project coordination.

We take the infrastructure, security tooling, patching, backup verification and after-hours escalation, plus coverage when they're on holiday. We agree the split in writing so nothing falls between us.

Do you support remote employees?

Yes. Remote and hybrid staff are managed the same way as in-office staff — the device is enrolled, encrypted, patched and protected regardless of where it connects from.

Support is remote-first, so an employee working from home or a client site gets the same response as someone at a desk in the office.

Do you support Macs?

Yes. Mixed Windows and macOS environments are normal, particularly in design, engineering and professional-services firms.

Macs get the same treatment as Windows machines: central management, enforced disk encryption, patching and endpoint protection. We'll tell you honestly if a specific business application works better on one platform.

Do you provide on-site support?

Yes, across the Wasatch Front. Most issues are resolved remotely because that's faster for everyone, but some work genuinely needs someone in the room — network installs, hardware replacements, office moves and new-location setups.

On-site expectations are agreed as part of your scope so there's no ambiguity about what's included.

Do you sell Microsoft 365 licenses?

We can provide licensing, or manage a tenant where you hold the licenses directly. Both work, and we'll explain the trade-offs rather than pushing you toward whichever is better for us.

Either way, you keep ownership of your tenant and your data. We'll also review your license mix — most businesses are paying for a tier they don't use or seats belonging to people who left.

How much does managed IT cost?

Managed IT is typically priced as a predictable monthly service based on the number of users, devices, locations and required security controls.

We give you a specific number after the free assessment, when we've seen what you're actually running. Quoting before that would either pad the price or lead to a revision later.

What happens in the first 30 days?

We start with discovery and documentation, then deploy management and security tooling across your devices. The highest-risk gaps — missing MFA, unprotected endpoints, failing backups, lingering former-employee accounts — get addressed first.

Your team gets a short introduction on how to reach us. Nothing gets replaced in the first month unless something is actively broken or unsafe.

Are we locked into a long contract?

Managed services work best with a defined term, because the early work is front-loaded and the value compounds. We'll be straightforward about the term and the exit terms before you sign anything.

Your documentation and data belong to you. If you leave, you get them.

Let's talk about what you're running today.

A consultation costs you half an hour and gets you a clear view of your options — including whether managed IT is the right fit for where your business is right now.
